The best time for scuba diving in Cancun and Costa Mujeres is year-round. However, the ideal conditions are typically from May to September, when visibility is excellent and marine life is most active. Winter months (December–March) can bring cooler water and occasional wind, but diving is still very good.
We recommend booking your scuba diving tour in Cancun at least 2–3 days in advance, especially during high season. For peak holidays, booking a week ahead ensures availability.

During winter months, a light wetsuit is recommended for added comfort.
One of the best places to dive with sharks in Mexico is Playa del Carmen, famous for bull shark diving (seasonal: November–March).

For your safety, it is recommended to wait:
At least 18 hours after one dive day
24 hours after multiple dives or consecutive dive days
This helps reduce the risk of decompression sickness before flying.
